On TV, ABC Family have ordered a total of 10 episodes of MAKE IT OR BREAK IT, now in production, (previously PERFECT 10), an hour long show set in the world of competitive gymnatics - Anthony plays Steve Tanner, the father of one of the gymnasts aiming for a place in the Olympic team. January 23, 2008 - Paging everyone who bought the 2006 Anthony Starke Calendar!
The Calendars are not something we do for profit but we did make one from the 2006 Calendar, thanks to a last minute printing deal. The amount raised was subsequently boosted by an excellent exchange rate when it was converted into US dollars.
So many thanks from all of us - especially Tony - for buying the Calendar. He donated the $100 raised to his church's Christmas Toy Fund for foster children.
January 16, 2008 - HOUSE MD is finally returning after its strike-related hiatus. Anthony appears is the Christmas themed episode IT'S A WONDERFUL LIE, which has now been rescheduled to air on Tuesday 29 January on FOX at 9.00EST. Please remember to check your local listings.

April 11, 2007 - Tony's agent contacted AnthonyStarke.com to advise us of an upcoming appearance on COLD CASE. Tony will portray Jay Dratton on the episode titled "The Good Death" on April 29, 2007. Set your DVRs!
December 4, 2006 - Due to exciting rumors of a REBA appearance, we contacted Tony for confirmation. The appearance, unfortunately, is merely a rumor (or as Tony put it "some kind of mistake"). No Christmas treat on the WB for us--sorry!
October 25, 2006 - Tony's NIP/TUCK episode airs in the US on Tuesday 24 October on FX. It's called CONOR McNAMARA and will be on twice - at 10:00 p.m. (EST), repeated at 12:05 p.m. It will also air on Friday 27 October at 10 p.m. No word on an exact air date yet elsewhere in the world, but, in the UK, it should be on SKY One in January 2007 - they start airing Season 4 of NIP/TUCK in November.
October 7, 2006 - Thanks to Tony Starke for letting us know that he's guested in NIP/TUCK. No confirmed air date yet, but we'll post it as soon as we have it.
We still don't know when Season 2 of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN will be out in Region 1 or have a new release date for Season 1 in Region 2. There is, however, no indication that they won't be out this year so we just have to be patient. Again, we'll post information when we have it.
July 11, 2006 - News is news, even if it isn't good news. The Region 2 release of the MAGNIFICENT SEVEN DVD has been delayed. We don't know when it will be released. The new distributor, FOX, has not put it on their release schedule yet, but we're trying to find out information on it.
April 21, 2006 - Obviously it's time for Region 2 Tony fans to be clearing a space on their shelf ready to stock up, because hot on the heels of the news of the MAGNIFICENT SEVEN DVD release in Region 2 comes word that PRISON BREAK Season 1 will be in on Region 2 DVD on 29 May 2006.
April 18, 2006 - No up to date news of what Tony's got upcoming, but something to cheer up those MAGNIFICENT SEVEN fans living in DVD Region 2. The provisional release date for Season One in Region 2 is 28 August 2006 and we expect to have more (perhaps even a trailer) in due course. Thanks to Sony for permission to post the information.
If you want to post this information elsewhere, please credit The Official Anthony Starke Website as your source.
December 2, 2005 - It's pilot season again and Tony's been trying out for next fall season. His role in PRISON BREAK has now completely finished - they killed off his character! Don't forget you can stock up on past performances on DVD by adding SEINFELD, CHARMED and THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN to your Christmas list and there's more to come in the early new year although we're sorry to say there's no cast interviews - not with Tony at any rate! Thanks to Tony Starke for the update.
We hope that you noticed the slight change in the name of our website, but if you didn't, we've just received permission from Tony to call our site the Official Anthony Starke Website!
September 26, 2005 - Super news! Fans of MAGNIFICENT SEVEN have been anxiously awaiting the release of the 1st Season on DVD for five years. According to TV Shows on DVD, that wait will end on December 6, 2005.
August 28, 2005 - Don't forget that Tony appears; in the first episode of PRISON BREAK airs on Fox at 8/7 Central on August 29, 2005 . Tony also appears in episode #3 on Monday, September 5 at 9/8 Central.
On DVD, some good news for those in Region 2. Not long to wait until the release of SEINFELD Season 6 (including THE JIMMY), which will be out in Region 2 on 28 October. It should be available as an individual season or a gift set with Season 5. It's possible that the Region 1 release will be around the same time, but no date has been confirmed yet.
Also due for release, again in Region 2 only at this stage, is CHARMED Season 4 (including MUSE TO MY EARS) which will be out on 21 November. The Season 3 Region 1 DVD is released only a week earlier so it's unlikely Season 4 will be available in Region 1 until next year but we'll post news when we have it.
July 31, 2005 - Three DOLLHOUSE reviews have been posted. The run of DOLLHOUSE has ended in Chicago.
July 10, 2005 - For Tony's British fans there's good news - PRISON BREAK has been bought
jointly by Five and UKTV. Five will air the series on terrestrial, with UKTV showing it on satellite and cable after it has premiered on Five. Unfortunately, Five say the premier is "early next year" but we can't have everything!
July 2, 2005 - Images of DOLLHOUSE have been uploaded, as has Cat's review of the play. AnthonyStarke.com is working on obtaining permission to post the published reviews for DOLLHOUSE. We would also like to thank the Goodman Theatre for allowing us access to the press photos.
June 19, 2005 - FOX is now advertising a debut date for PRISON BREAK. Be on the lookout on Monday 29 August 9/8c for the two-hour premiere.
This is an excerpt from a press release regarding DOLLHOUSE: "Anthony Starke takes on the role of Terry as he makes his Goodman debut. He appeared most recently in Chicago Shakespeare Theaterís Kabuki Lady Macbeth. Los Angeles theater credits include Buried Child at South Coast Repertory and the world premiere of Palladium Is Moving (Drama Logue Award)." Click Press Release so you can read it all.
Additional good news! The Goodman Theatre has graciously allowed us access to some rehearsal pictures for Dollhouse.
May 9, 2005 - Anthony has been cast in DOLLHOUSE at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. As far as AnthonyStarke.com is concerned, we have some exciting news for the website as well.
Tony recently completed filming of PRISON BREAK (or THE BREAK), a pilot which has been picked up by FOX. He portrays Sebastian. Unfortunately, we do not know if this is a recurring role, or a one-time role for him. PRISON BREAK is filmed in Chicago.
Nightwing speaks: "Back in June last year, when my husband totally forgot our wedding anniversary for the first time in over a quarter of a century, it was a cloud that didn't appear to have the proverbial silver lining. Come January and my birthday, he was keen to make amends and promised me a weekend away as my present - all I had to do was decide where I wanted to go. Well, it was obvious, wasn't it, when my long-time favourite actor was returning to the stage for the first time in years. I wanted to go to Chicago and see Anthony Starke in Kabuki Lady Macbeth. With everything booked, Tony called to arrange to meet us for a drink while we were over there and we headed westwards for what turned out to be a great, if busy, weekend."
"It was the first time Cat or I had had a chance to sort out anthonystarke.com material with Tony face to face and, while that obviously wasn't all we talked about, you will find odd changes across the site where we've been able to make additions or alterations and there will be a few more new things added over the next few months, at appropriate times. Two immediately obvious additions are our new exclusive photo of Tony and a section about Kabuki Lady Macbeth. Tony waited a long, long time for the opportunity to work with Shozo Sato so we have included various reviews, etc. Thanks to the reviewers and photographers who have given us permission to use their work. And special thanks to Tony who, at a particularly busy point in his life, gave up a lot of time to meet me and also took time to sign programmes for fans going to see the play to give them very special souvenirs."
April 13, 2005 - Anthony is currently appearing as Macduff and Messenger is KABUKI LADY MACBETH in the Upstairs Theater at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. This new play, in traditional Japanese Kabuki style, is based on Shakespeare's MACBETH and has been conceived and directed by Shozo Sato. Previews started on 11 March with the show's World Premiere on 18 March. It runs until 1 May with evening performances Monday to Saturday, Saturday and Sunday matinees and some Wednesday matinees. Tickets cost from $28 to $48.
As promised, we've followed up on the potential for a release of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN on DVD. Our contact at MGM tells us that THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN "is in the mix of tv series that MGM are considering for a DVD release but there's no more news at this point". We'll stay in touch about this and post news if and when we get it. Meanwhile, CHEERS is being released on DVD so watch out for Season 10. We remain optimistic about the DVD release, both Region 1 and internationallly, of THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN although, at this point, have no definite dates. Other DVD releases are as listed although THE PRETENDER has been delayed by one week.
If you have the chance to go to the play, you will find that it is completely different from traditional Western drama and, although the storyline is Shakespeare's MACBETH, it has been rewritten in Kabuki form. The make-up, costumes and acting are stylised, becoming a mixture of acting, dance and song where the "look" indicates important facts about the character, the dialogue is sing-song and every nuance tells part of the story. The actors are submerged within their characters with the exaggeration of presentation defining the story. Shozo Sato describes it as 90% wigs, make-up and costume although the most important part is the remainder - the actor's interpretation. So don't expect to instantly recognise Anthony.
December 5, 2004 - 1st Books is no longer available, and so "A Coal to His Lips" is not available on line any longer. We will keep you posted as to the availability of Tony's novel as we find out information.
CHARMED starts its DVD release in February of next year. We anticipate Tony's episode will be released fairly soon after that. Also, Tony's episode of THE PRETENDER will be out on DVD in a first season set in March 2005.
November 14, 2004 - No word yet of a new agent for Tony but we'll continue to post news whenever we can. Meanwhile, we've updated the Credits, mainly to put in more accurate information where we now have it.
It's coming towards the end of the year again and anyone with a 2004 Anthony Starke Calendar will now be sharing the month with Ezra Standish and doubtless wondering what they'll do after December. Don't panic! The 2005 Anthony Starke Calendar is underway and the ordering service will open shortly. Once again, it will be a limited edition so don't forget to place your order.
There's a new issue of our Newsletter up this month with a closer look at Michael Patrick, the character Tony played when he guest starred in THE PRETENDER. Why not check it out?
Word from MGM about the possibility of a DVD release of the tv series THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. They tell us they are "considering a release for future years" possibly 2006 or 2007 but it's not scheduled to come out in 2005 in the US. However, there is a possibility of an international release sooner than the Region 1 . We hope to have more information for everyone in January.
September 18, 2004 - No news of new roles yet but ample opportunity to catch Tony in old ones Stateside. Check your tv guide carefully as he's on in something almost every day in September. So, if you've never seen him in SEINFELD, NOTHING IN COMMON, CHARMED, THE PRETENDER, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, SUDDENLY SUSAN, NOWHERE TO RUN, CSI or REPOSSESSED this could be your chance! And, if you have, why not watch him again? (Thanks to Pat for tracking down the US schedules so meticulously)
August 8, 2004 - Fiddlesticks! No new roles for Tony at this point. However, hs is no longer represented by Don Buchwald and Associates. We are awaiting information about his new agent. As soon as we have contact details we'll put them up.
June 28, 2004 - Still no new roles for Tony this month. He is no longer represented by Mark Scroggs, but he is still represented by Don Buchwald and Associates.
April 26, 2004 - No new roles for Tony this month, but keep your eyes open on TBS for the promos for SEINFELD as part of the Comedy Showcase. As one of the most popular guest stars, he joins others in advertising the classic comedy
March 26, 2004 - Tony has been doing some promotions for TBS, which will soon begin to air SEINFELD. If you missed him as "The Jimmy" before, here's your chance to catch him now!
March 13, 2004 - Tony's episode of CROSSING JORDAN will air on March 21st at 10/9 central. The episode is entitled "Dead or Alive".
January 26, 2004 - *******HOT OFF THE PRESSES!!!**** Tony spent last week filming an episode of CROSSING JORDAN where he has a guest starring role. He portrays Brad Halford, a trust fund psychopath, a man who has raped and murdered several women and who has always managed to elude capture. Spoiled and entitled, Halford bought a brand new face from a skilled plastic surgeon in Mexico so he could continue his hobby of murdering young women.
January 5, 2004 - No new projects to report; however, Tony has been auditioning for both series regular roles and guest starring roles. Things in Hollywood are just getting back after the break from the holidays. Hopefully, we'll have some super stuff to report next time. Stay tuned!
December 17, 2003 - It's pilot season and Anthony has been heading off to auditions since our last update. No new role to report yet but here's hoping there will be good news in our next update.
November 4/12, 2003 - Despite his absence from both tv and movie theatre screens recently, Anthony hopes to be gracing them again soon. He is hoping for many exciting acting projects in the future even though, as we know, he is also working off-screen on other aspects of his career, including the establishment of a production company.
With the tv pilot season coming up, it's a time for optimism and the hope that Anthony's luck from now on will all be good. Keep your fingers crossed for him!
Thanks to our contact at Don Buchwald & Associates for the regular updates and especially to Anthony himself for the most recent news.
NIGHTWING'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
|Cat:||So, Nightwing, how was your trip?|
|Nightwing:||Excellent! Everything lived up to or surpassed expectations.|
|Cat:||Good weather? Good food? Good scenery?|
|Nightwing:||Are you kidding? In over three weeks we had one very wet morning. Food was great everywhere we went - we ate American, Spanish, Navajo, Australian, Italian and more. Tried all kinds of new stuff. Scenery was out of this world - absolute highlights were Half Dome in Yosemite and Monument Valley but hard to pick them out from the list - Vasquez Rocks, the rest of Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Anthony Starke, Grand Canyon, Universal Studios, giant panda in San Diego, Big Sur . . . |
|Cat:||Wow! Whoa! Back up a tad. Did you just say what I thought you said?|
|Nightwing:||Big Sur? Had some trouble seeing that the first day it was so foggy. |
|Cat:||Back . . . back . . .|
|Nightwing:||Giant panda? Universal . . . oh, you mean Anthony Starke?|
|Cat:||Yes. You saw Anthony Starke?|
|Nightwing:||Certainly did. But don't get too excited as I didn't have a chance to speak to him. We were thisclose but he was busybusy.|
|Nightwing:||And . . . no disappointments there. Well, one - it was quite dark so I never did see if his eyes really are that green.|
|Cat:||Mmm, so you saw him but you didn't speak. How can you be sure it was him? Especially if it was quite dark.|
|Nightwing:||He's confirmed twas indeed him since.|
|Cat:||Phew, so quite a trip then?|
|Nightwing:||Yep - quite a trip.|
|Cat:||But nice to be home.|
|Nightwing:||We got kind of used to being on the road tootling around the south western States. If we could've shipped the kids out, we could have kept going indefinitely. Well, at least until the bank manager caught up with us!|
July 7, 2003 - Semi-finalists in the Texas Film Institute Screenwriting Competition were announced. Anthony Starke's play did not make it to the next level.

March 26, 2003 - Received great tip regarding possibility that Anthony Starke had an agent.
February 18, 2003 - Abby - Guest Appearance ***REVISED AIR DATE***
In Abby, Anthony Starke portrays Sean Parks, a newly hired sports reporter. While he is a beloved sports hero and community volunteer, he isn't really cut out to be a sports reporter. Abby is given the unenviable task of firing a man who is beloved by the community.
At a dinner with the network honchos, Sean drops the news that he has been released. Her boss is put on the spot and hires him back. The next day, however, Abby is once again told to fire Sean. This time, she takes a different tactic and shows Sean a compilation of his own footage. Sean realizes that he is not really cut out for sports reporting and quits.
Abby airs on UPN on Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30 pm.
Anthony's episode was originally projected to air on February 11.
